CAFOD
CAFOD stands for the Catholic Agency For Overseas Development. They are an international development charity and the official aid agency of the Catholic Church in England and Wales.
CAFOD helps and supports people living in poverty – whatever their religion or culture. Through local Church partners, they help people directly in their own communities, and campaign for global justice, so that everyone can reach their full potential.
In Stanford Le Hope we raise funds for CAFOD eg by donating money raised in our Lentern Fast envelopes and responding for help during international crises.

MISSIO
The Catholic Church's Official Charity for Overseas Mission
Since 1922, Missio has been the Catholic Church's official charity for overseas mission. We bring the hope of the Gospel where there is turmoil, poverty and uncertainty in the world, and where the Church is new, young or poor.
Missio empowers local people to form and sustain communities of faith and we train and nurture future leaders so that the vital work of the Church in the world can take place. In Stanford Le Hope we raise money by taking home a red box and putting regular donations or lose change into the box.
